Edanz Group (known as Liwenbianji in China) met with more than 400 postgraduates and early-career researchers during a seminar tour of Beijing from 20 to 29 July 2015.

Through research writing seminars delivered by Dr Trevor Lane (Education Director and Senior Publishing Consultant), audiences were introduced to the fundamentals of research reporting for publication in international peer-reviewed journals. Discipline-specific examples were presented, along with an overview of the peer review process and research publishing ethics.

Among the 13 research institutions visited during the tour were the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Capital Institute of Paediatrics, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, and a People's Liberation Army Hospital.

Dr Trevor Lane, who has edited more than 2000 research manuscripts over the past 20 years, shared writing tips and how to avoid some of the most common mistakes when organizing and drafting research reports. He answered many questions from attendees about grammar, ethics, copyright, and responding to peer reviewers.

Mr Yu Hao, representing the Edanz Group (Liwenbianji) Beijing Office, introduced each seminar, saying that Edanz is one of the very few editing companies in the world that lets authors know which of its trained native English speakers/writers performed the English language editing, so as to allow transparent acknowledgment in a research article.

Edanz Group provides tools, resources, and services for researchers and research institutions to publish in international indexed journals and communicate their research to the world. In addition to publication support, editing, and news writing, Edanz offers a range of educational services from trained native-speaking instructors to help all levels of researchers throughout their careers.
